This was a fun bag to crochet until I got to the straps.
My first problem occurred when I did the straps weeks apart. I began the second strap and noticed my gauge seemed much tighter.
I believe this happened because I changed hook sizes.
Instead of frogging, I stubbornly proceeded forward thinking I could just make up for it with more rows and increasing the length.
By the end, one strap was visibly 2 inches longer than the other. I was exhausted and tired of it at this point and just wanted to give it to my sister, who is so nice she wouldn’t care anyway.
So I gave it to her embarrassingly explaining the shorter strap. We both agreed it MAY be the solution for the one-shoulder-strap-that keeps-slipping-off issue and she would let me know. LOL.
The colors are beautiful and the yarn stretches so much I was able to fit a full sized beach towel, flip flops, sunscreen with plenty of room to spare.
Next time I do this bag (I love the pattern and it is easy), I will instead incorporate the handles into the rounds as is so popular right now and made know to me by mentor crocheter, Margaret Pfaff.

I could not get the first photo to rotate after several attempts.
This photo reveals my poor attachment of the straps to the body of the bag. For this novice move/sloppiness factor alone, it will be my choice to incorporate the new handles every one is doing now by continuing the handles in the round.
