A quick knit hat (if you’re not fighting a kitten for your yarn) with chunky yarn. I used the written instructions and they were fine. I love the resulting hat.
I opted a different cast on, which I think is fabulous and adds to the pattern. I found no errors in the pattern.
I always use magic loop when working in the round. This pattern is especially suited to magic loop because you repeat the instructions for a total of 2x for each round, as the hat is symmetrical.
This yarn is a good choice for this pattern. My second time using it for this pattern. Made this one for my niece. The color is a bit muddier than it appears in photos. Not a pure lilac that is shown on Purl Soho website. The knitted fabric develops a halo after washing.

Cast on 72 sts on US9 metal cubics. Used alternating cable cast on, linked in this video. Watch till the end to see how to arrange your stitches for 2x2 ribbing. It looks a little fiddly, and it is, but it’s not hard and I was able to do it without a problem. I knit that first row as in the video k2p2. Then went to round 2 of the pattern as written below.
Then knit the garter ribbed section as follows:
Rnd 1: k2 tbl, p2
Rnd 2: k2 tbl, k2
On the last round of the garter ribbed section, I did not purl the last stitch. Instead, started round 1 of the pattern to match the rest of the pattern which starts and ends with a purl, so that everything matches up properly. Since I use magic loop when knitting in the round, I put the last purl stitch on my front needle and it then becomes the first stitch of the pattern. Only doing this because of my different cast on.
Switched to US10. I used the written instructions for the hat and knitted as written.

I have had to restart this from round 1 several times due to frisky kitten Beau attacking my yarn, distracting me, having to stash it in the bag. I have given up on knitting while he naps beside me. As soon as my needles hit each other, he wakes up and attacks. I hope he grows out of this. I miss knitting.
This yarn does not handle frogging well. It then gets untwisted and super splitty. Having to fix the splits as I go. Not enjoying this. If you can knit without error, it’s fine, but fixing mistakes takes its toll on this yarn.
