Cute pattern. Easy to follow and well written.

No modifications were made except that I am not adding ties. I don’t think it’s needed.

The Yarn
My first time using this yarn. This seems like a yarn that will not have any itch to it. Almost feels like cotton and it knits like cotton too. Not much stretch to the yarn, during knitting, but the finished object is nice. Pretty pink color, not garish, nice soft pink. The hat looks like a cupcake with a cherry on top.

Got thru the earflaps and knit about 1” in the round. Good start I think.

Using US7 wood cubics.

11-04-2021

Knitting finished. Hat measures 14.25” circumference x 6.5 tall on the back, pre-wash/block.

Not making ties. I don’t think they’re needed.

11-08-2021

After hand wash and lay flat to dry. Measures same circumference, but the length grew about 1/2”.

14.25 circumference x 7” tall on back.

Made pom pom from Cascade 128 Beet Red leftover from the Tiered Coat I made for Gracie.

One thing I never figured out was why not cast on all the stitches to start and then do your short rows on the flaps and back? Maybe I’ll try to modify in the future.
