Playing yarn chicken with this project using up leftover yarn from no purl ribbed scarf. Once I finished the scarf and he put it on, I realized that none of his hats looked right with it. So thought I would try to squeeze one out with the leftover yarn. This is a small hat, that I’ve knit 2x before, so here goes.

Cast on 84 stitches.

Knit to 4.75” plus one more round before decreases.

I used all but 2 grams of yarn! I probably could have done 1 or 2 more rounds before decreasing. Tried it on hubby and it fit, but was very small. I knew it would be, but also know that merino always grows when washed/blocked. So I washed it and it sure did grow. Can’t wait for it to dry so I can try it on him again. I get a kick out of such yarn efficiency. It’s so rare that happens.

Indoor picture is before blocking and outdoor picture is after blocking. It sure did grow and it fits just about perfectly now.
