I made this for my sister in a quick turn around. I knit more per day than I usually would so as to finish in time for Christmas. Very simple pattern to do. Would be great for beginners. I used a different increase for a smoother icord.
While the yarn feels nice to the touch, the garter fabric is a bit scratchy on my neck. Will have to see if it is softer after washing/drying.
The color is very, very pale pink.
I knit straight for a while after increasing to my desired width, so as to avoid a point in the center and make it a scarf and not a shawl.

I want to make this for my sister. She doesn’t like many colors, but pale pink is one she tolerates. We’ll see if I can even knit it. My hands have been hurting lately. I was doing so well. Knit 3 santa hats in a row and some small projects throughout the fall. This yarn is incredibly soft. Makes just amazing fabric. Perfect for a scarf.
Cast on with metal cubics. I soon switched to wood cubics with blunt tips for less slippery knitting and less splitting. Much better.
After knitting a small bit last night and looking at it today, I think KFB increase is stretching a stitch on the icord and I don’t like how it looks. I may try K4, M1R instead next and see how that looks.

I like K4 M1R better for increases, so that is what I’m doing now. Icord looks much better than KFB. Made some good progress last night. 18 repeats.

Second skein (103g) knit. About 57” long now. Less than a gram left. Straight knitting is about 33 inches. Time to start decreases with third skein.

I just learned there is a Sophie Scarf pattern. On second thought, I guess I have seen it before, but man that thing is tiny. I didn’t realize they were two separate patterns, because they look basically the same.
Started decreases last night. Would be great to finish today!

Knitting finished. Ends weaved in.
Pre-blocking size 85”x8.5”
Grew to 102” which is 20% more. Will see how it dries down. Hopefully before Christmas day!
No swatching on this project as I knew it would be tight to get it done in time.
45g of yarn left.

Finished size: 97x8.75”
Grew almost 15%
