Made this knit Spiderman at the request of my 5 year old nephew (soon to be 6).
When I saw him after the request was made, he was disappointed I hadn’t started yet. So I started while he was here for a few days. During any downtime, he would bring me my knitting and nudge me along to knit. He was very excited for it. I wasn’t able to finish while he was here. On the next visit I finished 10 minutes before I had to go pick him (and his mom and sister) up from the train station. Phew! Just in time.
After hugs, while walking to the car, “Did you finish Spiderman?”
Me, “Yeah”
Benny, “Yay! I’m so happy! You’re the best knitter in the world! I’m so proud of you!”
Not a fan of seaming. I probably should’ve modified to knit in the round. I didn’t think that would be so easy with Benny chatting to me while I knit. I ended up knitting the arms in the round and this was so much faster. I would’ve preferred to pick up stitches and knit them onto the body, but didn’t.
Used mattress stitch for a seamless seam.
Omitted the inward stitch on the spider legs. Looks more like the Spiderman logo.
Measures 12.25 inches tall.
