I am making “blank” Mrs. Weasley sweaters that she made for the kids in the first Harry Potter movie. They are up for auction to raise money for my son’s school. I plan on doing a duplicate stitch initial, winner’s choice. The initials will be in the font Engraver’s MT. I should be able to chart them out easily.

I am doing larger kids’ sweaters since they are able to read the Harry Potter books and watch the movies.

I am using the blue tweed yarn for the 30” & 34”. The red tweed is the 32”.

After the auction:
The 32” (red) and the 34” (blue) sold, the 30” (blue) did not. I think it’s because older kids 9+ are more interested in Harry Potter. Anyway, the 34” is for an 11 to 12 year old, Sam, he asked for an “S” on his. The 32” was for a 9 or 10 year old, and the mother did not want an initial on it……ok. The smallest size, fits my 7-1/2 year old son with room to grow, so I plan on stitching an “R” for Rowan on it soon.

Having done both the intarsia initial and the duplicate stitch initial, I have decided the knitted one is actually faster. It took me around 7 hours to stitch on that “S”!!!!
