Of the 16 patterns in the book this was probably the most tricky one to design. When my daughter, Sian decided that she wanted to call the book The Woolly Prawn and that there would need to be a prawn pattern included I realised I had a challenge ahead!
It took a while to come up with something ressembling a prawn but she liked this one and so it evolved.
It is mainly knitted but with crocheted tail and legs which could be adapted to knitting I’m sure.
Different size needles and yarn produce different size creatures - I used both aran and DK weight.

Can’t quite believe that twelve months have passed since The Woolly Prawn was published. We have now put together a kit which includes the book plus needles, crochet hook, yarn and stuffing …. in fact all you need to make a prawn (or two!).
