Notes

I completely re-wrote this pattern because it was so bad flat. (Sorry, it was - sewing up using 3 different types of joins - horizontal garter, vertical garter, and 1x1 rib was a nightmare and I’ve been knitting for 30 years). So: Newborn booties by Priscillia Uloho – Jenya’s round version
Materials
Size US 4 Circular knitting needles (at least 32 inch)
Size US 3 Circular knitting needles (at least 32 inch)
Yarn needle (for weaving ends)
2 colors of DK yarn (main color and contrasting color) 22 stitches to 4 inch/10 cm.
I used Yarn Bee “Must be Merino” in grey and white
Knitting terms
K = knit, P= Purl, KFB = Knit front back, P2TOG= Purl 2 together
M= Make (pick up the purl bump below the next stitch, put it on left needle and knit it)
SKP= Slip the next stitch, knit the next, pass the slipped stitch over the just knitted stitch
INSTRUCTIONS (make 2)
Using size 4 needles and main color, cast on 16 stitches with Turkish CO
Row 1: Using magic loop, Purl first half row (16 st)
Row 2: KFB, K14, KFB, KFB, K13, KFB (35 stitches)
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: K2, M1, K14, M1, K3, M1, K14, M1, K2 (39 stitches)
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: K3, M1, K14, M1, K5, M1, K14, M1, K3 (43 stitches)
Row 7: Knit
Row 8: K4, M1, K14, M1, K7, M1, K14, M1, K4 (47 stitches)
Row 9 – 18: Purl odd rows, Knit even rows

UPPER FOOT
Row 1: Purl 19 stitches, Knit 8, SKP and turn
Row 2: Slip the first stitch, P7 and P2TOG Turn
Row 3: Slip the first stitch, K7 and SKP turn
Row 4: Slip the first stitch, P7 and P2TOG turn
Continue Row 3 and 4 until you have 33 stitches left on your needles.
Sl1, knit 9, purl to back of bootie
CUFF
Using size 3 needles,
Row 1: Knit in main color, M1 st at the back of the booty so you have 34 st for ribbing
Row 2: Knit in contrasting color
Row 3: Using contrasting color K1, P1 for 17 rows
Bind off in pattern
