3.16.14 - Cast on 156 stitches, single strand, size 8 needles. Have made two of these previously. Trying single strand this time instead of double. May live to regret it if it takes too long!
I placed white markers between each pair of increases and pink markers between each pair of decreases -- makes it so much easier to keep up with and find mistakes early. (If you place the markers between the two increase stitches and two decrease stitches, they don’t move out of place.)
3.19.14 - First stripe (gray) done. 22 rows, plus cast-on row.
3.23.14 - Second stripe (blue) done. 24 rows.
I
3.28.14 - Third stripe (white) done. 24 rows.
3.30.14 - Fourth stripe (orange) done. 24 rows.
4.1.14 - After I wash this, I think it’s barely going to be 28 inches wide, maybe 27. So next time I’ll cast on 170.
4.5.14 - Fifth stripe (gray) done. 22 rows (ran out of yarn).
4.9.14 - Sixth stripe (blue) done. 24 rows.
4.12.14 - Seventh stripe (white) done. 22 rows (ran out of yarn).
4.27.14 - Eight stripe (orange) done -- finally! 22 rows.
5.4.14 - Ninth and last stripe (gray) done!
5.5.14 - Ends weaved in! Just need to wash it. There was a hole I tried to repair. Hopefully, if it’s not a good repair, it will show after washing and drying it. I would hate to have to redo the entire blanket, but I do have time. And there are a few mistakes bugging me in this one.
