Started making the centers. Going to try doing all the centers, then all the petals, then all the leaves, then all the rounds of granny stitch. This video is extremely helpful in figuring out how to make the flowers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaWol-52NQE&feature=y...
11-3-16 -- Picked this up a year later. Finished all the yellow centers and all the turquoise petals.
10-09-2017 -- I cannot believe I’m still trying to finish this! I guess starting graduate school while working full-time and raising a kid will put a damper on leisurely pursuits. But I’m determined to get this done by Christmas! All 63 flowers are done. The green leafy round is done on almost half of them. I’m determined to finish the green round on the rest of them by the end of next weekend. Then I’ll do the three gray and white granny rounds on all of them. Then it’s time to weave in ends. Ugh! By the time November rolls around, I want to be working on joining the squares and doing the border. Fingers crossed!
11-3-17 -- Well, i’m not quite at the joining squares part. I did finish all the leaf rounds, all the white rounds, and now I’m doing the gray rounds (three rounds each on 63 squares). Determined to weave in the ends after every four completed, at least. And THEN I can join them!
1-25-19 -- Still working on this thing, but had a burst of productivity on it this month. I only have nine squares to do three rounds of gray on. So close! I have not kept up with how many gray skeins I’ve used, darn it.
Determined to finish the squares this weekend so I can start on joining. Thankfully I have weaved all the ends in as I finished each one so I don’t have that to face. Straight to joining. I’ll be so glad to get this done, finally, and start a new project. My poor niece probably has outgrown this blanket by now, but she’s still getting it!
1-26-19 — Finished squares.
1-27-19 — Started joining. Single crochet join with white.
2-2-19 — Finished joining.
2-3-19 — Round one of border done in white. Now have to decide what colors to do the next rounds. Flower colors or gray?
2-14-19 -- Started the last round of the border: A white scallop pattern.
2-17-19 -- DONE!!!
