Notes

Love this pattern! Very relaxing stash buster. Held two different yarns together throughout. I like the denim look created by holding these two colors together.

Project notes/mods:

  • Crocheted 52 sts instead of 70 per row so that rows run parallel to short end instead of longways.
  • Final dimensions (minus fringe): 19.75” x 30.5”

Note to self: beware the accidental decreases! I originally started with 54 stitches per row and noticed closed to the end of the rug that I was at 51 sts per row. I thought the narrowing of the rug was due to my increase in tension but nope. Accidentally decreased in a couple places in the first section of the rug and again in the last section. So I ripped back to remove the last decrease and will do “surgery” to remove the first section of the rug to get my perfect rectangle. Husband thinks I’m crazy.

Finished the rug today, hurray! Love how it turned out.

P.S. Although I managed to salvage my project with some crochet surgery, I don’t recommend it. The only way I could get it to work was to make a fringe by snipping in half the loosened loops of the row above the surgical cut. Did the trick but may have to do some stitching to keep that end secure. Live and learn.

After a month of heavy use it survived the washer and dryer just fine. Definitely going to make more crocheted rugs!
