A note for others: the numbers for the XL size after the raglan increases are completely wrong (and that’s apparently a problem with more than one of the larger sizes, according to a comment on the pattern page…wish I’d seen it before finishing the increases!). The pattern calls for 27 increases in this size (it gives the 2 increase rows and then says to repeat 26 more times), but when I did the math on the final stitches for front, sleeve, and back they would require 24, 30, and 29 increases respectively to match the numbers in the pattern.
8/16/12 - Cast on! Uh, yeah…I’m a little behind on this. But I didn’t have a single spare knitting minute during the Ravellenic Games, as I’d lined up those projects long before the requirements for Camp Loopy Project Three were announced. Now, I know from Project Two that I can knit a cardigan in about 2 weeks - I knit 2 cardigans in a month, both of which had more yardage and/or complexity than this one. So I can finish this in 11 days, right? Of course I can…
8/25/12 - And bind off…in 9 days. Not bad, no? Although I used more yarn than called for in the pattern, the sweater’s more cropped than I would have liked (but I was completely out of the purple, so I had to end it here). The pattern doesn’t give length measurements, another thing I didn’t realize until I was already working on it, so I have no idea if my experience is an anomaly.
I even had enough free time to make a matching set of earrings and necklace! I really loved the colors in my sweater, and since I had the same colors in nail polish, as well as the other raw materials I needed for a necklace/earrings set, I freehanded some flower designs, and I love them!
