So something new to deal with here in Maine after 20 years living in “cities” (compliments of the US Air Force)…hunting season!! Not that we’re hunters, but we all like to enjoy the outdoors AND be safe. A neighbor kid mentioned that we should wear some bright orange out there, especially since my kiddos love exploring! So, for oldest boy, whose favorite color is bright orange, it’s no problem, but for everyone else….we needed orange. So my daughter said she’d wear bright orange if I could make it into a cat hat! I thought stripes (so it would be like Tigger) would be cool, but didn’t want to do pieces of black in there, so instead I did subtle tiger stripes simply by purling in partial rows all over (I’d write a pattern for this, but really, its just adding in purl stitches wherever, not sure how to write that out)
I doubled worsted weight yarn so that I’d have more of a bulky yarn. It passes daughter’s inspection (although she’s also now requested a slouch hat). This is simply a tube knit in the round (cast on 60, ended up decreasing about 4 stitches just because) and then did 3 needle bind off.
