Unsquandering: An Epic Stash-Busting Journey

Ready for blocking!

Planned alignment of Warms and Cools. I suppose any arrangement would have some combination somewhere in it I’d like to break up, but I think this will do.

At 150 pattern rows.

2nd Cool ball (cyan) ran out at RC 220. Yellow (2nd full Warm ball) started at RC 180.

The yellow stripes are really going to call attention to themselves. Oh, well.

At 400 rows, with about 7 (out of 36) oz of yarn worked up,

Here it is with 9 of 36 stripes worked, so imagine it 4 times longer. Yikes!

At RC 700, working on 13th stripe of 36.

RC 800, just starting 15th stripe. Inconsistencies in ball yardage are starting to result in noticeable differences in stripe width. I hope I don’t regret letting the yarn play out however it will.

900 rows, almost 50%. It’s getting ridiculous to photograph.

1000! Half-ish.

22 stripes, RC1260.

RC1510. 27 (75%) stripes completed.

30 stripes complete. Decision time. How many and which of the remaining 6 balls will I use?

Ready to work ribbing and scrap off! 1960 pattern rows (24 1/2 motif repeats).

Off the needles and every bit as gloriously ridiculous as I imagined it would be.

Laid out to dry in the largest expanse of open floor in the whole house!
