My washer has decided it doesn’t like hot water so felting these hedgies lately has been thing of trial and error. I discovered that drying it in a dryer with some plastic dryer balls significantly helped to felt it and get it down to the correct size and shape. If, after one dryer cycle, it is still too big just wet the hedgie again and toss it in for another 15 minutes. It made a big difference doing it this way.
