09/29/18: I no longer have this pattern.
I strongly suggest to anyone interested in doing these socks to save yourself time, money (kit was $38.00), and sanity and find another project. I have never enjoyed knitting less than doing this. I only completed it because I am stubborn. It certainly is not worth the time and energy and frustration involved! Yes, it IS an amazing pattern. However, I found the charts and written instructions to be confusing, and incorrect in places. The festive intarsia was not fun and turned out to be annoying at best. The socks are ill-fitting and uncomfortable.
I decided that due to the complexity of the pattern, and my unfamiliarity with a number of the stitches, that I should do a test sock first. I used Knit Picks Palette yarn in the fingering weight, and dyed enough blue for one sock and completed it before starting the ‘real’ socks. See photos.
If you really want to go ahead and do this project, please contact me for hints and tips that I discovered as I went along, including a breakdown of stitch counts within each row of the cuff. I would be happy to try to help.
Care: hand wash cool water/dry on sock blocker
