Pattern states that design uses more of colour 2 than colour 1. Since Marine Life has slightly greater yardage it will be colour 2, Hollyhocks will be colour 1.

Sept. 16/18 update: Had enough yarn to add an extra wedge in each colour after the second arrowhead section and an additional 2-row stripe in Hollyhocks. Bound off with Marine Life using Elastic Bind Off on pages 170-171 of “Cast On, Bind Off” by Leslie Ann Bestor. This is becoming my go-to bind off because it looks good, is nicely stretchy without causing any rippling to row below, and it has only the teensiest tilt towards the side it was worked on, appearing to sit as a horizontal capstone row on both sides of the knitting. When the yarn is variegated or the bindoff row is a different colour from the row below it this bind off also has a lovely “window” effect that lets the colours below show through when viewed straight on; on one of my thinner yarn projects it almost seems beaded. I’m actually giving serious consideration to undoing the billion-stitch bind off of my Slain and redoing it with this bind off … that’s how much I like it.
