Modifications

Body: started with jmco, next time will probably start with 4 sts and increase to pattern size

Trunk: cast off using miraculous stretchy bind off, left a long tail to use for cinching the 4 sections of the trunk. Used forceps to stuff so didn’t stuff body until completely done.

Ears: adapted from Wee Bonnie Mouse pattern to look a little more elephanty (I’m not a big fan of garter ears).

Legs and feet: started with jmco and cast on 15. Since the elephant wants to tip forward because of the trunk, make sure to put the back feet far enough to the rear to help balance the elephant. I may consider adding some weighted beads to the rear next time. I sewed the feet on so that the cinched end was against the body.

Tail: I did a 3 stitch icord for an inch (next time would do a little shorter), ended with a cdd. Used the cast off tail to separate and fluff the bottom of the tail.

Bow: used one I’d adapted from my second Spud sheep project

Used about 22 grams of main color yarn and oddments of flower and bow colors.
