Notes

Used 9 mm safety eyes. Put a piece of scrap yarn between stitches #22 and #23 and stitches #34 and #35 on round 20 for later eye placement. I placed the eyes just before dividing for the arms.

On this one for the ears, I put scrap yarn for 6 stitches on rounds 14 and 16 for later use in picking up ears. I put the scrap yarn thru 6 stitches on each side of head. I worked the ears before doing the second leg and stuffing the head.

Since I was using worsted weight yarn, I reworked the decreases on the hands and legs to be a little less abrupt and bulky. Also closed the feet on this one with kitchener so they’d be less pointy.

Next one will rework the decreases on the head some more to make sure the decrease “lines” are more toward the side and back of the head and not on the face.

When picking up the arms, I picked up an additional 2 stitches under the arms and then immediately decreased them on the next round to make sure there was no hole. On the second leg, I did the same thing. On the arms, I put no stuffing at all in the tops of the arms, only toward the hands.

For the hat, I am not a crocheter, so worked a little knit hat, mostly in seed stitch. Bit annoying to have a crochet hat in a knit pattern since I had to do a couple prototypes knitting to get one that fit and worked reasonably well.

For the collar and bow, I used one I’d modified from the Spud sheep pattern.

My bow directions.
Using jmco (and leaving a long tail), cast on 12 sts.

Close with kitchener, leaving tail. Thread tails from both ends to the middle and wrap around middle a couple of times, knotting in the back. Collar, made a 3 stitch icord. Used tails from bow to sew bow onto collar.

Very sweet and easy pattern. Definitely recommend.
