Notes

I am trying out clasp weft weaving with some alpaca/merino that I dyed, drum carded and spun.
Plain weave.
108” (3 yards) warp in red yarn.
96 ends (8” wide).
12 dent reed.

I used a cordless drill with a pencil in the chuck to wind the bobbins for the boat shuttle.

After weaving it is 7.5”x74” with 6” fringe on either end - so on the long side. After fulling (in very hot water) and pressing (while wet) it didn’t end up shrinking much and is almost the same size. It came out very soft and fuzzy (the alpaca).

Clasp weaving is really easy and interesting to weave.

The top 3 photos are after washing and pressing.
