A couple of months ago I visited my Local Yarn Store, the place where I worked for 4 years, to visit my boss, as I still like to call him.

I really love the place, I think I’ve taken everyone who’s ever met me to that yarn store because I really think they do a hell of a job at coming up with new products and yarn lines. All their yarns are custom spun and dyed for them, so everything you can get there is unique.

In this opportunity, my boss gifted me 2 skeins of a new yarn they carry, for me to try.

He knows I can’t publish many designs with their yarns because sadly they don’t have any distributors abroad that carry these yarns, so I keep these for myself.

While my friend Ale and I were staying at an Estancia last May, I decided to use 1 of these big skeins to make something special for my sister who announced she was coming to visit us in October. So instead of totally improvising, I used main part of this pattern to start.

When I picked up the stitches around the cowl (I had worked a different length, so I just picked up 2 st for every 3 rows), I realized the st count didn’t match the one required for the lace pattern in that design, so instead I used the lace band from this pattern :-)

It was finished 2 days ago, but I only set up the camera today. Do not get too excited. Since it isn’t a pattern photo I didn’t really feel like adding all the make up, so my face is all read from the shower. Cheers!
