Stranded work

When starting your stranded work, watch your tension, really watch it, as you want it to be rather loose, if you stick to gauge, and can’t stretch your work further, it will probably still fit around your ankles, but be too tight to pull over your heel!

A good idea is to try it on after having worked the first of three zigzag lines of the pattern. That way, if it is too tight, there will not be too much to unravel

Heels

The slip-knit effect is quite distinct. It looks a lot like rib-knitting. This is very helpful as guidelines when you are doing your turns. For the turns it’s useful to have 10-14 short pieces of scrap yarn already prepared (about 6-8 cm long worked for me).

2-at-a-time

I knitted these two at a time using magic loop.

I cast on using the tubular cast on method on dpns and then arrange the socks on my long circular needles.

The heels I did one at a time. I took the socks of the circulars and did one heel at a time and then arranged them on the needles according to where the markers were to be placed.

I rearranged the socks again when I came to doing the toes. Technically you probably wouldn’t have to do this, but I makes it easier
