This was knit using the suggested yarn from Lofoten Wool, which I’m very happy with! I used about half of a skein.

If you want a larger hat (suitable for a man), I would suggest adding a 5-10 cm of ribbing before the pattern starts. 5 cm if you just want it a little bigger, 10 cm if you want to fold the brim. But watch out, its not all 2x2 rib!

Regardless, I would add 5 rows in rib before starting the chart, just to add a little bit of lenght and the start of the cables will look a little bit neater.

I have to be honest, I’m wondering if some of the instructions for knitting the hat have by peculiar circumstances been omitted from the magazine where the pattern can be found. The original hat does seem to have a 4-5 rounds before the pattern starts.
