My Pattern

CO 90 sts and join. Starting with a p st, work 3” of 1x1 twisted rib. Knit around on next row, then follow 4-row pattern for 4”, ending with R4.

R1: Move marker one st to the left, then k around
R2: Sl1 (purlwise wyib), p2, sl1, p1 around
R3: K around
R4: Sl1, k2, sl1, p1 around

Decrease Rounds

R1, R3, R5: Knit around
R2: Sl1, p2tog, sl1, p1 around (72 sts)
R4: K3, p1 around (72 sts)
R6: Sl2kpsso, p1 around (36 sts)
R7: K2tog around (18 sts)
R8: K2tog around (9 sts)

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail to thread through remaining sts. Pull tightly and take tail to inside. Knot and weave in end. Weave in tail at CO edge. Add pompom if desired.
