I designed this folded brim (double brim) hat for Hal. I’ll probably continue to refine the pattern. This was the first attempt.

I did a crocheted provisional cast on, 72 stitches
Attached main yarn and knit around and joined
knit not quite 6 inches, then folded the brim and attached the cast on to the working stitches, per Andrea Mowry video. https://youtu.be/etIyi8sxMkA?si=f6-U5KHGB1xUN9fY

I put the slip knot end of the provisional cast on at the wrong side. I was following Very Pink video for that, but she goes a different direction with it and I didn’t realize that for what I was doing I need to have the non-slip knot side matching up to where I joined yarn to knit.

Kept knitting to 6 inches long.

Began decreases.

knit 4, k2tog. 40 stitches remaining
knit around.

Knit 3, k2tog. 32 stitches remaining
Knit 2, k2tog. 24 stitches remaining.
knit 1, k2tog. 16 stitches remaining.
k2tog. 8 stitches remaining.

Cut yarn with tail, pull through remaining stitches, weave in ends.
