I have 6 grams of yarn left and not anywhere near the length I supposedly should have.

The first note to self that I have is to weigh the yarn ball after finishing the increases. Then I could calculate how much yarn it took me to complete the increases, and extrapolate how much to save at the end for the decreases.

So. Shall I play yarn chicken or rip out and have more to work with? Yarn chicken it is!

I ran out of yarn, not surprisingly. I had some fingering weight yarn that was a similar color, but not close enough to make up for being too light in weight. So I went with a ball of Cascade pima cotton. Probably not great to mix cotton with superwash wool, but hey, they’re both washable so probably all will be fine. The color is a good match tonally, but obviously much lighter in color. Would have been good if I used it in the middle to create a different colored brim, but as is, I’ll fold it to the inside and hide it.

It’s done! Yay! I loved the Jadawoo yarn, love the color, love the hat design, love the hat. I am hooked on Musselburghs and will probably make more -- with fingering weight so I don’t run out of yarn.
