I needed a hat for a new jacket I bought, and dug out this Antique Jade color from my stash. I love this yarn, and when it went on clearance at my LYS, years ago, I bought up what they had left.

I only had size 10.5 US needles, so due to that, or due to having a small head, the hat came out a little big. I probably could have stopped after 2.5 reps of the pattern, but am always doubtful about how much fabric will be added by the decrease rows. Since this had very few decrease rows, I decided to complete all three reps, even though it was feeling a bit big. I imagine I can block it down to the size I want it.

Someone observed in their project notes that the sample hat for this pattern doesn’t have four rows/2 ridges of garter stitch. So I did two rows/1 ridge to better mimic the model.

Really cute and fast. I was hoping to just do it in an evening as the pattern promised, but due to my own poor time management skills, I ended up working on it in fits and starts over the course of the week.

I love it and it matches my new coat perfectly! And I still have one more hank of that colorway, so I just might knit up a scarf to go with it.
