Notes

I’m combining different patterns, to create clothes to fit Antoinette, my 1950s vintage Toni doll.
Starting with size 2 needles, I worked the top of the baby dress pattern, using k1p1rib, instead of garter stitch, around the neck. I worked the rest of the bodice entirely in stockinette. I did not add any more length to the sleeves. Once I got to the waist I switched to size 4 DPNs, after joining to work in the round, continued in stockinette until the work was 3” long. For the skirt, I increased at the back and sides, to 62 stitches. Here, I switched to the Barbie dress pattern, at row 7. Eventually, I had to switch to my 40” circular needles, and that was actually a little too small.
I worked rows 7-11 of the Barbie pattern, in the round, knitting all even rows, since the pattern is written flat. In between rows 11 and 13, I worked two rounds of knitting, one round k2, yo, k2tog, then two more knit rounds. I completed the rest of the pattern this way, adding five rounds, after three eyelet rounds in pattern.
At the end of row 18 of the Barbie pattern, I decreased one stitch at each end of the next k row (340 sts), then I worked the lace chart from the AG petticoat pattern, from the top down.
