Notes

Cast on 84 stitches using size 10 needle. Switch to size 9. Work six rows of seed stitch and three rows of stockinette, also seed stitch border (6 sts wide) on each side, and (7 rows) through the middle.
Each pattern is 32 sts wide without the border, however, “Paw” is several rows taller, so, omit rows 28, 30, 44, 48, 50, 60, and 62, to make them more equal, and renumber the rows accordingly. It still ends up being just a bit taller.
Knit three rows of stockinette after the last row of “Paw.”
To make the textures match, purl the purls and knit the knits on odd numbered rows, instead of knitting all stitches.
Adapting the back part of the Cool Cables Cushion pattern to make the back side. It has to be washable.
Purl one row before starting back panel, since you will be continuing on after the seed stitch border, rather than binding off.
One round of single crochet around all four sides, 3sc in each corner, then reverse sc in each stitch around.
Fits a standard pillow after blocking. Could also fit a square pillow.
