You can alter any pattern to knit a hat like this one. I was sitting in front of the TV with a little yarn in my bag, I cast on 50 stitches on a round needle, did a few rows of ribbing, switched to knit stitch fir a few rows, switched tp purl stitch for another few rows, then continued like that. I decreased toward the top and ended with knit stitches till it was time to bind off and pull the yarn through to end the hat.
Be creative. Use whatever yarn you have on hand and make your own pattern work for you.
