Notes

I’ve used the border from the Crown Prince shawl because I liked the Nupps and narrowed the pattern by one repeat, hoping to get the shawl out of one ball. However I broke into a second ball to get a little extra length. This yarn is so inexpensive when knitting lace, I won’t begrudge the extra £8.

I used a larger needle size than I thought I could get away with (I’m a loose knitter, so more like 4mm in typical tension) and I’ve blocked it open so that it is light as a feather but still so soft and cosy.

I think my sister will love it; I’m very pleased with it! I choose this colour because she wears alot of greys and this is a really interesting grey. She is going to Japan for a three week holdiay and I hope she takes it with her. Next year, I’ll make her a lace shawl in a pretty colour.

This is shawl 6 of 2010. I think I will make 20 in 2010, at this rate.
