Was looking for a
- striped
- slightly boxy/wide/oversized
- drop/oversized shoulders
- straight neck/boatneck/funnel neck/turtle neck
sweater in neutral colours.
Knit Notes
Tubular CO 200sts on 3mm needles.
1x1 ribbing for 16r.
Switch to 3.5mm, start striping (2r each, starting with bellbusk), techknitting jogless stripes.
Split for sleeves after 30 blue stripes + 1 white, continue to end of round on next blue round, turn (colour switch half becomes the back).
12 blue stripes for yoke, start shortrows after that, i.e. starting on next white stripe - 4 st intervals.
Carry other colour along behind after each switch.
Continue sr over first white, following blue-white-blue stripe.
On next white stripe, pick all stitches back up.
3-needle-bo from the wrong side over 22sts on each side.
92x56sts remaining for collar = 112sts total, 36r 1x1 rib.
Fold over, pick up row below start of ribbing, knit together.
Arm pickup 32sts over 24 stripes (=4sts ev. 3r) twice, 64sts total, start with white, 39 blue stripes, 1 more white stripe.
What I might change next time
Maybe don’t pick up stitches for shortrows before 3-needle-bo? The white stripe on the shoulder is quite bold (at least on one side).
