Notes

Lots of pictures, because I was going to write up the pattern, but haven’t decided if the final result is really worth all the fiddling about to make it. Probably not.

A quick note of work in progress:
1) The finished heart
2) A wrap-and-turn rounded piece1 with 4 separate strips grafted to it (strips are k1, p1, k1 RS, k1, p1, k1 WS to keep them relatively flat and un-curling)
3) back side of same piece
4) same piece with 4 strips folded in half
5) four white strips being held
6) four white strips attached to white rounded w&t piece
7) after weaving purple and white strips in and out (front and back - this was particularly fiddly)
8) all the loose ends at the back
9) loose ends all tucked inside the heart - no weaving in at the end, at least! Some batting added to the rounded tops; none required for the body, as the strips are fairly thick
10) ready to graft 2nd sides of rounded pieces to the 2nd end of the strips
11) paper Swedish Heart - think I’ll go that route from now on! Or with fabric. If I ever take up sewing again.

  1. magic (provisional) cast on 24, wrap & turn 4 or 5 per side (this one was 5/side) as for a sock heel
