Ok, so let’s try an ‘adventurous’ knitting project! I just fell in love with the pattern and thought it was just perfect for someone really special…
(have to work in secret, so he will not find out before his bday…have two weeks time - possible?)

11/13/13 cast on - after careful reading, it worked great. My first knit-on cast on…btw, looks to me like a typical beginning for double knitting (?) and was then less mystical. Shaping done by short rows. First brim ready. Hope the yarn is not too soft.

11/14/13 second brim ready. I am really afraid of having chosen the wrong yarn. I REALLY hope the result is not too sloppy…maybe I have to add some inlay to make the brim stiffer…I have to wait for the finished project to decide…at least it is an easy knit, when you follow the instructions.

11/15/13 the two sides are ready and the top is attached to them. The pattern is so diversified! Great knit!

11/17/13 it is done!!! And absolutely in time. The pattern is wonderful! Totally genius and never boring. I will definitly knit one for myself, too.
I just have to wave in the ends and fasten the second brim. I also think this nice and warm alpaca yarn is fine for this hat. It is by far not too sloppy as I feared. I AM TOTALLY HAPPY!

I also thank the designer for her warm advice and kind support :)
