I started with a chain of 97. In the 4th chain from the hook, I double crocheted, and double crocheted to the end. I chained 3, and turned the work. Each row is alternating front post double crochet and back post double crochet.

My preference: when I changed colors, I double crocheted in each stitch in the previous row. Then I started fpdc and bpdc.

This used almost an entire skein for each color stripe. I might have had a couple of yards of each color after each band.

I love that the blanket looks the same on both sides, and is heavy and dense and cozy.
