Notes

Used 3 strands of this fingering yarn, which is variegated. This is the 835th project.

Cast on 84 sts.
Made a mistake with casting on. I cast on in the wrong direction - backwards. That meant that I would have to purl the entire hat. Instead, I didn’t knit the first row in a circle, I double backed and left a small gap that I will fix later.

The three inches were 24 rows.

The i-cord was three stitches. The length concerned me greatly because I don’t want the owner to be strangled on a cord that is too long.

Modification for next one: I liked how the writer/creator had a k2tog right where the earflap meets the cast on row. I was confused which two stitches to use, so next time I would calculate it (add on four stitches to the number of cast on stitches) so I could k2tog twice for each flap, just to be sure.

Modification: I would like to knit the garter stitch earflap IF it will curl less.

Modification: The cast on row curls a lot. Would kntting (somehow getting a garter stitch going on circular needles) garter stitch - or seed stitch - stop the curl?
