Cast on 36 onto size 2 needles.
Ribbing for 18 rows.
Change to size 4 needles.
Stockinette St for 14 rows.
Knit 17. Put 19 stitches on a holder.
Work 9 rows on the 17 stitches.

Start to decrease for tip.
Row 1 (Right Side) K1, S1, K1, PSSO, knit across to last 3 sts. k2 tog., k1
Row 2 Purl
Row 3 Repeat Row 1
Row 4 Repeat Row 2
Row 5: Repeat Row 1
Row 6: P1, P2tog, purl to last 3 sts. P2to through back look, p1
Row 7: Repeat Row 1
Repeat rows 6 and 7 until 5 sts remain.
Next row work the 3 center sts together k2tog, S1.
Bind off last st.
Sl the 19 sts onto size 4 needles
Work 16 rows.
Decrease tip until 5 sts remain (don’t decrease on purl rows).
Row ? (the row with 5 sts): K1, on next 3 sts double decrease, K1 =3 sts.
Next row double decrease = 1 stitch left. Bind off.

Dragon Legs by Nichole Spring = the scale of a dragon equals the fin of a shark.

Sewing up the mouth is rocket science.
I frogged maybe 4-6 rows of the tip at this stage. The point was too much.
Best advice is start from the tip of the (partially frogged) tongue and toward deep into the mouth. This method helps you learn how much of the sides of the mouth have to be sewn up. I believe that I had to sew up 5-6 stitches per side.
