I made no changes to the pattern, apart from reducing the body length by 1”, and adding 1” to the length of the sleeves. The pattern is perfect, and the fit is spot on!
Body weighs 180g.
17g of the first skein of BFL/Silk left to start the sleeves.
I intend splitting it, stopping the first sleeve after 8g, then adding the 2nd skein.
96g of the cone left (incl the 38g cone). 58g of yarn left.
The body has taken 94g, 640m
After 1 sleeve I have 77g of the cone left (incl the 38g cone). The sleeve has taken 19g, 130m
The sleeve took exactly 19g, 133m of the BFL/silk, which I also estimate to be @700m/100g, although there’s no yardage on the label.
After both sleeves, I have 58g of the cone left (incl the 38g cone), so 20g of yarn.
Finished weight, pre blocking, is 252g. 10g weight loss due to oil being lost from the coned yarn during knitting
Measurements pre-blocking:
Bust, 37”
Inside sleeve, 18.25”
Length (from top of shoulder next to neck, to hem), 23”
Measurements post blocking:
Bust, 38”
Inside sleeve, 19”
Length (from top of shoulder next to neck, to hem), 23.5”
Neck width (measured across the widest point, in the middle of the saddle shoulders), 9”
It’s stretched a little with blocking, so I decided to stabilise the neck, to keep it from stretching any more with wear.
I picked up all cast on sts around the neck on 3.75mm, and then just bound off purl wise on the ws. It feels sturdier like this, and doesn’t really change the look.
It’s also slightly longer than I’d planned for. My swatch didn’t change in size when blocked, but over the weight of a whole sweater, with a soft drapey fabric, it has gained a little length, both in the body and sleeves.
