Notes

80/20 BFL/silk yarn, hand dyed as a tonal by my lovely friend, Anne
Miyuki size 8 seed beads, still trying to decide which ones…

Finished weight, 75g, but that’s with the beads.
Size blocking. Across top, 74”, middle to bottom of picots, 22”
I blocked it fairly aggressively, to account for it shrinking back when it’s dry.

Love the dragonfly border, and the single moth in the middle!

Although this is an easy pattern for experienced lace knitters, I’ve rated it as medium…not to mislead any beginners!
There are lace sts on a few ws rows, but they’re really not difficult.
As always, Mary-Anne writes such clear instructions, and the consecutive stitch counts on the charts are always so useful.

I went with the darker beads, as the yarn is quite luminous (with the silk content and different tones…) so decided to go subtle. Maybe too subtle…they do show up, but not at a distance.

Absolutely chuffed with how it’s turned out, I know my friend will love it!
I’ve made it as a surprise present, she’s getting married in October, and the theme is whimsical.
I hope it goes with the maidens’ green dresses, but I’m sure she’ll love it even if it doesn’t get worn on her wedding day.

It’s arrived in California from the UK, and happy to report that she loves it…
