Notes

I’ve added some length to the body, using more yarn than I thought I would with the slip stitch pattern.

I decided to do a measured spit splice to change colours between CC1 and CC2, to save all the weaving in.

To do this, I worked all sts until the end of the last CC1 (brown) round before the colour change, to measure how much I needed; this is the point where I folded the yarn, ready to splice. I then held that fold, and unpicked the last 6 stitches in this colour, then, still holding holding the fold, I left another small length for the overlap (around 1.5”). I measured the total length with a tape measure (it worked out at 9cm) after cutting CC1 at this point. I interlocked the pink (CC2), and made a spit splice.
I then left this in place, ready to pick up for CC2 when next needed. The colour change happened right at the back of the work, where the yarns were twisted.

After making the first splice, I just measured the rest of them at 9cm, after stopping at the same stitch before the end of round.

The Coast is quite thin, so I didn’t bother to split the plies, and yes, it does spit splice, there’s enough lambswool for it to felt together.

I’m pretty happy with how it’s turned out (see pics), and the inside has no ends to weave in.

Finished weight. 121g
Blocked measurements:
Bust, 38.5”
Length from top of shoulder, 21.5”

I didn’t make it to match, but by lucky co-incidence, it goes perfectly with my BACK THEN cardigan.
