Notes

These are a relatively quick knit for being made out of Fingering yarn. If I were to make a second pair, I’d do three things differently:

  1. I’d use smaller needles, my mitts turned out kind of big but I like the 50 stitches, and not doing math. The fabric is also a little thinner than I prefer my mitts.

  2. For the ribbing, I’d knit the knits through the back loop to help the ribbing keep a little more definition.

  3. I’d reverse the second mitt (knit first then rib) so that my cast off edges can both be on the bottom of my hand.

10.03.13 - I was super unhappy with these mitts and had put them in the Time Out box for a few months; the ribbing was making me crazy, but more annoyingly, one mitt was longer than the other even though I knit the same number of rows (at least, I thought… I used a row counter!).

So I frogged the top half of the first mitt (the longer one) all the way back to the thumb gusset and reknit it. Now I’m much happier with them!

01.03.13 - My ribbing always comes out so loosey-goosey. WHY? :( Finished the first mitt, it’s a bit big.
