Have you ever decided to knit a hat for a baby on the day that baby was due to make an appearance? That’s me and this hat. For my boss’s new kiddo, who at the time was still gender TBD. The pattern was lovely, I omitted the chin strap because it doesn’t get chin strap cold in New Zealand, and I did the striping for the garter rows between the wedge sections. If there’s ever another one of these (and I’ve got enough leftover yarn…) I’d make sure my ear-areas were neater transitions between the blue and pink. Also I blocked this sucker with a hairdryer when it was finished, but the kid seems to love it and that’s all that matters!
