My gauge is 20 st and 28 rows in 4 inches, and I want a 24” length so I’m making 8 stripes of 20 rows (close enough to 3”).

Cast on 4 st at underarm, then dec away on next 2 rs rows.

I didn’t make the hood gusset as called for in the pattern. I just knit till the hood was tall enough and then kitchenered it together. (The blocking photo makes it look pointed but that’s just how I folded it while it was drying. It’s not actually pointed.)

I added side pockets as Katushika did here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/katushika/emilien . Mine are a bit clumsy because I wasn’t feeling well and didn’t obsess. Don’t look too closely.
