I decided to do a true afterthought heel, so I’ll cut in the heels at 7”. I’ve made afterthought heels before, but the little trick shown in this video makes them perfect: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=616gmtAYWLU
Don’t unravel the last two stitches and you won’t get holes!

I really wanted to add some lavender color to this sock, but couldn’t find a suitable sock yarn in my stash or lys, so I’m going to use a little Berocco Ultra Alpaca Fine in white for the heels. I just feel like they need to be different.

Done! I’m really happy that I used a different color for the heels. It just looks so good! They fit well, they feel great, but I’ll probably make my next pair a little smaller. These are 7 1/2” in circumference and 8 1/2” long.
