Cast on 20 sts with Navy, inc’d to 60 sts.

I put in the German Short-row garter stitch heels last night, with these mods: Change to CC, knit 2 rows, work the heel as directed ending with a RS row in CC. I then had to slip all the foot stitches to get the needles in the right place to work the heels in the MC. The extra heel rows left gaps at the sides, so I picked up 2 extra stitches on each side, then decreased them on the next 2 rows. I didn’t start the pattern on the back of the leg until that was done.

The allover stitch pattern makes knitting these really slow, and requires too much attention. The yarn doesn’t feel very nice either; the Feza yarn is too rough and the Knit Picks yarn is too soft. I’m afraid it was a poor choice for the heels.
