The plan is to knit these to a similar size as the Herald Mitts I knit Lucy a few years ago, with short fingers--so I’ll need to work the chart upside down.

Start on round 57 (should work nicely with pattern). Start with rib because I’m not going to picot the fingers and it’d be nice if they match; 10 rounds of rib. Work chart; leave one stitch each side of thumb increase on needles and work black throughout, copy the split directions from the medium size of Herald.
Work 2 extra rounds plain, then pinky, then three rounds plain, then other fingers. Finish thumb.
