I knit this for a gift swap with a valentine theme. Very quick and easy project.

Using up very old stash for this project. Yarn was leftover from my Neverland Hoody. I normally don’t knit with 100% acrylic yarn. However, this cranberry shade was so gorgeous that I couldn’t resist. I’m not a yarn snob by any means.

The gauge listed above is the pattern gauge with worsted weight yarn suggested. My gauge was quite different which is why this hat will fit a large head up to 24”.

My gauge: 15 sts x 21 rows = 4 inches (10 cm)

My yarn is a little heavier - aran weight for the cranberry part. Also, I knit on the loose side - especially when doing colorwork. So this is why my hat turned out larger. But my brim is snug, so it will just fit a smaller head with more slouch. Another reason my hat is larger is because did not start the decreases until the hat measured 7” (17.8 cm) from the cast on edge.
