This is my second test for Jennifer Steingass. She’s a master at colorwork sweater design. The pattern is well written, thoroughly tested and easy to follow.

So sad that Lion Brand has discontinued this wonderful yarn. I think I’ve used nearly every color sold. Colors were all very sophisticated and appropriate for men or women. It has a chain construction and each strand is comprised of several different colors/fibers. So it gives a heathered appearance. Machine washes and dries beautifully.

Needles used:

Size 3 US - Neck ribbing & JSSBO for bottom ribbing
Size 4 US - Bottom and sleeve ribbing, JSSBO for sleeves
Size 5 US - Yoke and body

What I did differently:

I did not do any decreasing on the sleeves. Also, my cuff is smaller (40 sts) than the pattern suggests due to my thin frame. The smaller cuff creates more of a “bishop sleeve” look.

Weight of finished sweater: 21.7 oz. (615.2 grams)

Finished measurements:
(After shrinking in a warm dryer)
I always allow for shrinkage when choosing the size.

Bust / hip circumference - 39” (shrank 1”)

Side length from underarm - 14” (11.25” + 2.75” ribbing) (shrank 1” total, ribbing shrank .25”)

Front Yoke depth / colorwork - 8”, not including neck ribbing (shrank .125”)

Armhole depth - 9.75” (shrank .25”)

Upper sleeve circumference - 12” (shrank 1/2”)

Sleeve length - 19” (shrank 2.5” total, ribbing shrank .25”)

Front length, not including neck ribbing - 22” (shrank 1”)

Back length, not including neck ribbing - 23” (shrank 1”)
