Finally, I knit this for my sib! ^^
Notes from other people’s notes: consider holding the yarn double for the brim and maybe switching to a smaller needle size and//or looking into an insert of some kind. I shall see as I progress. ^^
Things I did: two less rows of the netting/sides & switched to US 4 needles at the decrease round. I set aside an empty plastic milk jug for stiffening and shaping of the brim, but, uh, found myself grafting before I realised, hey, maybe plastic should be in here. Anyway, done! A test-fit on my own noggin makes me pretty sure it’ll be awesome for my sib. ^^
If I were to knit this again, I would maybe start from the brim and work my way up (which would be … interesting when it comes to the leaf pattern) and only because I hate grafting with a passion. That said, Knitty’s tutorial saved my life again.
This yarn … . I am so sad it’s (technically?) limited edition. I love the depth of the colourway, the yarn itself was beautiful to work with and looks to have great stitch definition. I kinda wanna make a whole sweater out of this. ;_;
Buttons were purchased through foreverrosedesigns on Etsy--link forthcoming, as soon as I edit this with something other than my phone! ^^’

And I’m all done, bar the blocking and the sewing of the buttons. Which is good, ‘cause, uh, I only just ordered myself some buttons. ^^’ I’m planning on borrowing my sister’s clothes steamer to make sure the brim is flat.
